Continuing southeast, U.S. 178 heads to Donalds in Abbeville County and Hodges in Greenwood County. U.S. 176 combines with U.S. 25 south 15.77 miles through the city of Greenwood before turning east to Saluda. Passing through western Lexington County, U.S. 178 connects Batesburg-Leesville with I-20 and Pelion.
