IL 92 meets Interstate 280 at a cloverleaf interchange (Exits 11 B/A) in two miles. I-280 straddles Big Island and a levee system leading to the Centennial Freeway / Rock Island Parkway. 05/28/18
The Centennial Freeway carried the designation of IL 199 from 1969 to 1980.2 IL 92 overlapped with U.S. 6/150 southward from Downtown Moline along 19th and 27th Streets to 1st Avenue / Airport Road into Milan. Joining U.S. 67 briefly, the state route turned westward again along 78th Avenue through southwest Rock Island. When IL 199 was replaced with IL 92 in 1980, the previous alignment was removed from the state system.1 05/28/18

The final four main line exits of Interstate 280 west serve the western reaches of Davenport. Rockingham Road (Iowa 22) meets the freeway in 1.5 miles. 05/28/18
Known simply as the "I-280 Bridge", the tied-arch bridge that carries Interstate 280 across the Mississippi River travels 4,194 feet at a height of 62 feet above water.3 05/28/18
The I-280 Bridge opened October 25, 1973. The tied arch bridge was painted yellow and blue originally after a contest decided the color scheme.3 The span was repainted blue alone as of 2008. 05/28/18
