| Interstate 93 encircles Walker Mountain to enter a diamond interchange (Exit 42) with U.S. 302 & NH 10 (Meadow Street) on the west side of Littleton. U.S. 302 leads southwest from Exit 42 toward Woodsville, where it crosses the Connecticut River into Vermont. NH 10 overlaps with the US route southwest to Woodsville, where it turns southward along the river to Lebanon.
The routing of U.S. 302 through Littleton would make a logical business loop for Interstate 93. 07/23/00 |

| Leaving the diamond interchange (Exit 34B) with Tramway Drive to Cannon Mountain ski area along Franconia Notch Parkway south. The parkway turns southward along Profile Lake by Mount Lafayette (elevation 5,260 feet) in the distance.
There was a time when plans called for a full Interstate-standard freeway to be constructed through Franconia Notch, but a compromise solution was reached. The road would remain access controlled, but would only have two lanes with occasional passing lanes. This has lessened the impact of the highway passing through this scenic and historical area. The fact that the freeway is not up to full Interstate standards is why the parkway is not technically part of Interstate 93; instead, the parkway connects two segments of Interstate 93. 07/23/00 |
