U.S. 11 (Ellisville Boulevard) returns to Interstate 59 from the west by Hesler-Noble Field Airport (LUL) at forthcoming Exit 93 in South Laurel. 10/24/09
Crossing over a Norfolk Southern Railroad spur to LUL Airport, I-59 northbound enters the parclo A2 interchange (Exit 93) with U.S. 11 (Ellisville Boulevard). U.S. 11 proceeds northeast toward Downtown, passing under I-59 again at Exit 96A. 10/24/09
Confirming marker posted ahead of the Airport Drive overpass in Laurel. 2017 traffic counts recorded by the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) along I-59 through Laurel top out at 34,000 vehicles per day beyond S 16th Avenue. 05/09/16

A substandard stretch of Interstate 59 through the city of Laurel was modernized during a five-year project completed in July 2011. Work removed two of the ramps at the cloverleaf interchange with 16th Avenue, consolidating ramps with the northbound lanes of I-59 at Exit 95A. 05/09/16
Interstate 59 North U.S. 84 East Mississippi Highway 15 South
Prior to the I-59 S-Curve Reconstruction Project, the freeway made succeeding sharp curves north to Jefferson Street and back south across U.S. 11 (Ellisville Boulevard) and the Norfolk Southern Railroad. Construction straightened out a 3,700 foot section of I-59 and reconfigured the parclo interchange (Exit 95C) with Leontyne Price Boulevard.1 05/09/16
MS 15 south combines with I-59 north for 1.4 miles to Cooks Avenue. U.S. 84 continues another 0.7 miles to the off-ramp (Exit 97) for Chantilly Street. 05/09/16
Proceeding east from the former 16th Avenue entrance ramp, I-59 passes under 13th Avenue. Exit 95C departs for Leontyne Price Boulevard at Hartford Street. 05/09/16
Bacon Street northeast into Downtown was renamed to honor Laurel native Leontyne Price, a famous professional opera signer, by city council in June 2015.2 05/09/16
Two lanes separate at Exit 95C for Leontyne Price Boulevard. I-59, U.S. 84/MS 15 elevate onto the David R. Brown Bridge across Ellisville Boulevard, the NS Railroad, Maple Street and 6th Avenue. The 1,980 foot long span honors Brown, the original project engineer for the S-Curve project.1 05/09/16
