Interstate 41 U.S. 41 South

06/14/18

U.S. 41/141 expand to four southbound lanes and a I-41 begin sign appears on the sign bridge just south of County M.
06/14/18

The next four exits lead into the city of Green Bay.
06/14/18

I-41 south at the County EB (Lakeview Drive) overpass. Decorative brick and other enhancements were used extensively along Interstate 41 in Green Bay.
06/14/18

I-41 expands to five southbound lanes as another auxiliary lane opens for I-43 south. Milwaukee is the control city for I-43 at Exit 170 B because Interstate 43 is a shorter route to Wisconsin's largest city than I-41 at this point.
06/14/18

A left exit was selected in the design of this exchange because of wetlands and the tight space between I-43 and Velp Avenue.
06/14/18

I-43 south begins to the left and the ramp does not have any advisory speed so traffic can safely exit at 70 mph. I-43 forms the north and east legs of the Green Bay Beltway. U.S. 141 departs I-41 to the right in a quarter mile towards Downtown Green Bay.
06/14/18

Exit 170 A separates from I-41 south for the continuation of U.S. 141 and Downtown Green Bay. County HS heads west briefly before turning north on the pre-freeway route of US 41/141 through Howard and Suamico.
06/14/18

The flyover ramp from I-43 north.
06/14/18

I-41 reassurance sign posted after I-43 and the Velp Avenue entrance ramps. U.S. 41 typically is posted alongside I-41. The freeway expands to five southbound lanes again.
06/14/18

The succeeding exit is for Wis 29/32. Beginning at I-41, Wis 29 constitutes a 205 mile long non-stop expressway that connects Green Bay with I-94 near Menomonie. The freeway to freeway ramps as part of the I-41 project eliminated the final traffic signal along the Wis 29 expressway route.

06/14/18

Located midway between Green Bay and I-94, Wausau is where Wis 29 converges with the north end of Interstate 39. Wis 32 runs concurrent with Wis 29 northwest from Green Bay for 8.1 miles before branching north towards Pulaski and Wisconsin's north woods.

06/14/18

The two-wye interchange with Wis 29 overlays the dumbbell interchange joining I-41 with Wis 32 along Shawano Avenue.
10/28/16

Wis 54 is a cross state highway west between Algoma and Winona, Minnesota. Locally Mason Street is the only roadway from east to west that traverses the entire city of Green Bay.
06/14/18

Traffic to Exit 168 A and Wis 54/29 departs from I-41 south along a c/d roadway that collects traffic from Wis 29 east.
06/14/18

The Mason Street bridge along Wis 54 beyond the separation with Wis 32 at Ashland Avenue is part of a short freeway that is the busiest urban Fox River crossing in the city of Green Bay.
06/14/18

The two lanes of the c/d roadway from Wis 29 combine with the I-41 mainline to expand the southbound freeway to five lanes below Mason Street.
10/28/16

Exit 167 for Lombardi Avenue leads to Lambeau Field and the Resch Center.
06/14/18

A noise wall was built as part of the I-41 reconstruction. County VK (Lombardi Avenue) is the ensuing exit. Named after famed Packers coach Vince Lombardi, Lombardi Avenue is the main exit for all Green Bay Packer points of interest such as the practice fields and the Titletown District in addition to the stadium.

06/14/18

Construction at forthcoming Exit 164 between Fall 2013 and 2016 expanded Interstate 41 south to four through lanes while adding a second lane for Wis 172.
06/14/18

Wis 172 forms the south leg of the Green Bay Beltway. It is also the busiest Fox River Crossing with over 85,000 vehicles per day (vpd).
06/14/18

Wis 172 travels 11.6 miles across Brown County between Wis 54 at Oneida and Interstate 43 at Bellevue.
06/14/18

Wis 172 is an expressway that leads west to Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport (GRB) and a freeway that crosses the Fox River and leads to Allouez, Bellevue, and I-43 to the east. This is the busiest interchange in the Green Bay Area.
06/14/18

Exit 164 A follows to County AAA (Oneida Street). An oversized truck damaged the previous overhead for I-41 south. Oneida Street heads northeast towards Bay Park Square Mall and Lambeau Field.
06/14/18

06/14/18

I-41 curves southwestward at the diamond interchange (Exit 164 A) with CTH-AAA. Oneida Street is the main commercial corridor in Ashwaubenon.
06/14/18

06/14/18

Exit 163 A joins Interstate 41 with County G (Main Avenue) just south of Ashwaubenon Creek at the De Pere city line.
06/14/18

County G is the only east to west route that crosses De Pere. It combines with Wis 32 across the Fox River between West De Pere and Downtown.
06/14/18

Reconstruction of Exit 163 included adding roundabouts to Main Avenue, geometry improvements to the loop ramp from CTH-G west to I-41 south, and realigning Mid Valley Drive around the southwest quadrant of the interchange.
06/14/18

Ashland Avenue south, the former alignment of U.S. 41 Business, connects to I-41 south via a flyover within the parclo interchange (Exit 163 A) at CTH-G (Main Avenue). This is one of the very few bridges not rebuilt as part of the I-41 project. The span however was stained to match the colors of the other designs.

06/14/18

County F (Scheuring Road) serves newer commercial developments and the West De Pere Business Park. A dumbbell interchange (Exit 161) joins the arterial with Interstate 41 in one mile.
06/14/18

Interchange sequence sign posted along the eight lane stretch of Interstate 41 through De Pere. Outside De Pere, County S and U are the ensuing rural exits.
06/14/18

CTH-F (Scheuring Road) loops west from De Pere to Williams Grant Drive south and CTH-S (Freedom Road) near Exit 157.
06/14/18

A decorative overpass carries Brown County F (Scheuring Road) over Interstate 41. Upgrades made here included expansion of Scheuring Road and adding roundabouts at Mid Valley Drive, both ramp ends and at Lawrence Drive.
02/29/16

Interstate 41 straddles the De Pere city line southwest along Ashwaubenon Creek by this reassurance marker.
06/14/18

The reconstructed portion of freeway ends where Interstate 41 reduces to four lanes.
06/14/18

Interstate 41 travels through southwest Brown County as a rural freeway on the 16 miles leading to Appleton. Milwaukee is 112 miles away.
