Traffic slows at the Exit 174B partition of Interstate 90 west from Ohio 2 west (Cleveland Memorial Shoreway). Ohio 2 continues westward along the lake front area to The Flats and junction U.S. 6 & 20. This routing was originally planned for Interstate 90, but the freeway was never completed from Lake Avenue southwestward. More recently talks arose of removing the elevated highway north of downtown and replacing it with a surface boulevard. Photo taken 08/12/06. |

A large 35 mph advisory sign lies ahead of the southward turn at the Ohio 2 split. Interstate 90 dives below the adjacent streets and railroad lines between Cleveland Memorial Shoreway and East 14th Street. Much of the freeway through downtown Cleveland is signed with a 50 mph speed limit. Photo taken 08/12/06. |

Two lanes of Ohio 2 depart Interstate 90 west at Exit 174B. The freeway more or less defaults onto the Cleveland Memorial Shoreway with Interstate 90 taking a right-angled turn southward on the two-mile drive to junction Interstate 77 south. Ohio 2 encircles downtown to the north, providing direct access to the central business district from East 9th and 3rd Streets. Photo taken 08/11/06. |
