SR 148 is the Cedar Breaks Scenic Byway through Dixie National Forest in Iron County. The UDOT Highway Reference File lists SR 148 as just 2.544 miles between SR 14 and the south boundary to Cedar Breaks National Monument. As of 2014, the state route was still posted at SR 143 on the north side of the park.

The southbound beginning of SR 148, where SR 143 turns east from Mammoth Summit across Markagunt Plateau. Traveling almost entirely above 10,000 feet above sea level, SR 148 is closed due to snowfall during the winter months. 04/28/11
