Lakeview Avenue angles northeast from U.S. 113 (Dupont Boulevard) by the Lakelawn Estates neighborhood toward Downtown Milford. A distance sign references the east end of SR 36 at Cedar Beach (eight miles) and Bay Avenue south from there to Slaughter Beach (ten miles). 01/16/17
SR 36 (Lakeview Avenue) intersects Kings Highway ahead of Silver Lake. Kings Highway was historically part of a roadway crossing the Mispillion River north to NW Front Street. 01/16/17
SR 36 kinks eastward from Lakeview Avenue onto Causey Avenue east from Silver Lake into Downtown Milford. 01/16/17
The state route dog legs on Walnut Street north between Causey Avenue and SE Front Street. Walnut Street leads south to become Old State Road en route to Lincoln. 01/16/17
Walnut Street crosses the Mispillion River north from SR 36 (SE Front Street) to intersect SR 14 (NE Front Street). The street eventually joins SR 1 Business by Milford High School to end at U.S. 113 (Dupont Boulevard). 01/16/17
SE Front Street leads SR 36 east through the Milford street grid to Rehoboth Boulevard. 01/16/17
A ramp departs from SR 36 (SE Front Street) east for SR 1 Business (Rehoboth Boulevard) south ahead of the traffic light at Cedar Beach Road. SR 1 Business south converges with SR 1 (Coastal Highway) beyond the Shawnee neighborhood in south Milford. 01/16/17
SR 1 Business leads directly also to Cedar Creek Road, which becomes a part of SR 30 south from SR 1 toward Milton. SR 1 Business north follows Rehoboth Boulevard to Walnut Street. 01/16/17
SR 36 curves northeast from Rehoboth Boulevard to cross Deep Branch ahead of the diamond interchange with SR 1. 06/18/12
SR 1 (Coastal Highway) bypasses Milford to the east along a controlled access expressway south to SR 30 and north to U.S. 113. 06/18/12
SR 1 travels 103.02 miles from the Maryland state line at Fenwick Island to SR 58 at Churchmans Crossing. The route north from Milford is generally high speed to Dover. 06/18/12
The remaining 5.21 miles of SR 36 east from the Milford city line are rural as the state route travels to the eastern tip of Cedar Neck at Fort Saulsbury. 06/18/12
Sapp Road connects SR 36 (Cedar Beach Road) with Cedar Neck Road to the south. The final reassurance marker for the state route follows. 06/18/12

The Cedar Creek Bridge opened to traffic in 1949. 83 feet in length, the swing bridge was rebuilt in 1998.1 06/18/12
Bay Avenue
Although not a part of SR 36, Bay Avenue provides a through route south from the Cedar Creek Bridge through Slaughter Beach. 06/18/12
Slaughter Beach occupies a narrow strip of land between Delaware Bay and marshland adjacent to Sheppards Island. 06/18/12
Harrison Avenue is second to last of seven unpaved streets from Bay Avenue to Delaware Bay. 06/18/12
Nearing the south end of Slaughter Beach on Bay Avenue southbound. Founded in 1681, Slaughter Beach is home to around 200 year round residents. It was incorporated in 1931.2 06/18/12
Slaughter Beach Road (Road 224) provides return access to the Sussex County mainland from Bay Avenue to SR 1 at Argo Corners. 06/18/12
Slaughter Beach Road
Slaughter Beach Road traverses an area of marshlands through Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge south of Bay Avenue. 06/18/12
Slaughter Beach Road passes through the community of Argos Corner and intersects SR 1 (Coastal Highway) across from Pine Haven Road. 06/18/12
